Here's an obviously very happy dog at the park!
Can you imagine this sweet loveable dog was on the list to be euthanized shortly before being rescued by Dog Pack Rescue!

Flowers in the Park

The gardens at Leita Thompson Park are spectacular!

A Walk in the Park (Leita Thompson Park)

Leita Thompson bought the land in 1946 and made it her home until her 1978 death. During her lifetime, Thompson was an early female banking executive who helped other working women with retirement assistance, disability, housing and social and professional recognition. Upon her death, she donated her property to the foundation she created to carry out her work, the Leitalift Foundation.
There is an off-leash dog area at the Leita Thompson Memorial Park on the north side of Hwy 92 (1355 Woodstock Rd).
The park also provides the following amenities: benches, water fountain, poop bag station, and porta-potty. There is a Small & Large dog area.
Jackson and Janie enjoyed there visit last Sunday! Oh and the Poop Bag Station was a big hit, lol!!

On a Wing and a Prayer!

This was taken Wednesday while flying to Newark NJ on one of Air Tran's new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Aircraft wing technology has leaped forward in the past decade with the advent of blended winglets fitted on the wing tips. Winglets improve engine performance, the B737-800 has a cruising distance of 4,500km (3,060 nautical miles).

The wings are of fail-safe design with aluminium alloy-structure with a corrosion-resistant skin. The nosecone, wing and fuselage fairings, fin tips, the fairings of the flap actuators and other non-stressed components are constructed from glass and carbon fibre reinforced plastics (GFRP and CFRP). The rear of the engine nacelles are constructed of graphite, Kevlar and glass fibre composites.

Pretty cool stuff!!!

Future Vets Visit Janie and Jackson

Unable to hold back her enthusiasm one more second our neice Madalen and her good friend Stephanie met us at Leita Thompson park to meet Jackson on Saturday.
Madalen and Stephanie have applied at several local animal rescue organizations as volunteers and are eagerly awaiting summer assignments.

With Us Forever

Friday our girls came home forever.
Beth and I have decided to keep their ashes saving them in a nice container along with cards, pictures and Madalen wonderful letter.
We are planning a small memorial in our garden consisting of a St. Christopher statue and flowers. Gram and Papa provided a beautiful pink and white hydrangea to start us off.

Victoria Day

Dressed in his new maple leaf bandana for Victoria Day Jackson is ready to celebrate his first Canadain holiday!!

Jackson Sarc

Intruducing Jackson Sarc!
Jackson is the newest member of our family. He's a one year old Petit Griffon Basset Vendeen or "PGBV" for short!
As I always referred to Thelma and Louise as "frogs" instead of dogs Jackson is truly a French Frog!
Rescued from Dog Pack Rescue of Atlanta Jackson is about 24 pound, in extremely good health, with great teeth and microchipped! He enjoy a myriad of toys, does very well walking on a leash, driving in the car and also fetches!
Jackson is settling in well and Janie is adjusting slowly to her new pack mate.
He's extremely loving and eager to please. Beth has already bought him clothes so I guess he's staying, lol!!

Thelma and Louise

Yesterday was the most difficult and painful day Beth and I have ever faced.
Our beloved pack mates Thelma and Louise have been very ill as of late so Beth and I made the humane decision yesterday to put them to sleep.
Our beautiful pups passed peacefully at 8 AM after almost 16 years of love and happiness with us. They will be cremated and buried in our garden next weekend.
